Hello!

Hey! This is the first signs of life for Kill Yr Records....
Introductions are in order, Kill Yr Records, what is it? Well, it's a record company, an indie record company. It's not even released yet, it's very new, but it soon will. It will release a compilation tape called 'Compilation #1' in the next month or so. On Compilation #1 will be songs from friends of the label and the label boss (me).
So who are friends of the label? Let me introduce them to you!
Waiters - Waiters are relatively experianced, in that they've already released music, for instance they recently they did a split single with another friend of the label called Former Bullies. On Compilation #1 they will have a few songs, 2 or 3 maybe, but I'm sure they'll be 2 or 3 seriously awesome songs. Listen to their myspace.
Former Bullies  - Former Bullies have released albums before, on other indie labels, but they've agreed to be on Compilation #1. They are great, which you'll find out if you listen to their myspace page.
Amida - Amida have released a couple of EPs, I think both of which have sold out. They sound really good and you should check them out, they're going to have a few (new!) songs on the compilation.
Maxillo Facial Ward  - have played numerous shows at the academy, I've attended one of them and I can tell you they rock! They're going to have two songs on the tape, called Sic 'Em Boys and Mockingbird (I Heard). The song they have on myspace is an instrumental, I think it's good, check it out!
Jinx - is a solo act, the link takes you through to a page where you can listen to 23 songs of hers. On the tape she'll have a few, including 'Infinite Radio'.
On top of these five artists also on the tape will be my friend Gem, who will have a song on it. And me, who'll have an instrumental on it.

You should really check out the links, they're great bands.

So where will it be on sale and how much and when? Well, it will be on sale at Good Grief the zine shop which is currently in Afflecks but which is moving on Monday to Soup Kitchen. Piccadilly Records will have a few copies as well. I'm also going to talk to other record shops in Manchester, such as Vinyl Revival and Vinyl Exchange in the city center, Deco in Withington and King Bee Records in Chorlton.I still need to talk to most of these shops though so it's not definite.

So how much will it be? Well it'll probabbly cost around £5, it may be £6 at certain shops or so, it all depends on percentages - at one shop I might make 70% of the cover price. That's fine and covers the cost and leaves a little profit. Other shops may have 50% where just to cover costs I might need to raise the price abit. We'll see.

And when is this all happening? Soon, I'll have all the actual music by the bands within a week. I should then get all the tapes in two or three weeks. So it should all be ready in a month, before christmas.

So there you have it! Everything you need to know about the incoming Compilation. I hope you get it and enjoy it when it comes. I will try to update this blog when more details come along and I can tell you all more! Thanks!
